A.R Rahman’s daughter chooses Hijab not immorality
A.R Rahman
A.R Rahman
Two important lessons to learn from this as muslims.
1. Allah guides whom he wills.
“Indeed, [O Muhammad], you do not guide whom you like, but Allah guides whom He wills. And He is most knowing of the [rightly] guided.”(28:56)
A.R Rahman Indian composer. The following picture with his daughter from a recent ceremony has been widely criticized and the singer has been accused of forcing his daughter to cover herself despite the fact that his wife and other daughter do not cover themselves. The singer defended his daughter and emphasized that it is her right to chose what she wears and it is not his decision to make.

You may grow up in a religious household and not practice Islam or care, and you may grow up in a household around a lot of fitnah and still choose to hold fast on the path of Islam.
For muslims who have reverted this provides a source of encouragement to remain steadfast in face of such trials.
2. Do not be ashamed of your deen
Unfortunately today muslims often try to hide their religion and their practices in fear of what others might say and think. Not only are we fearful of being labeled ‘weird’ or ‘funny’ by non-muslims but we fear the opinions of other muslims too who label anyone slightly religious an ‘extremist’.
The daughter chose to wear the niqab despite the fact that her family members choose not to. Despite the fact that she would be a target to critics because of the fame of her father.
The father defends his daughter and lets her practice what she wills despite the fact that people would judge him and her, and despite the fact that it could affect him and how people see him.
May Allah guide us all.
